Kremlin appoints Kudrin as chair of pres econ council workshop

MOSCOW, May 17 (PRIME) -- The Kremlin has appointed former Russian Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin as chairman of the presidential economic council’s working group Structural Reform Priorities and Sustainable Economic Growth, as follows from documents seen by PRIME on Tuesday.

Earlier in May, Kudrin was appointed as a deputy chairman of the council traditionally presided by President Vladimir Putin.

The working group will be defining issues hindering sustainable economic growth and fulfillment of structural reforms, and developing proposals for their solution. The authority will also analyze the country’s social and economic development, development of branches and sectors of the economy and issues of state management, and will be working on proposals for priorities of structural reforms.

Besides Kudrin, the working group will include Deputy Economic Development Minister Alexei Vedev, Sberbank CEO German Gref, Deputy Finance Minister Maxim Oreshkin, First Deputy Chairwoman of the central bank Ksenia Yudayeva and other officials.
